Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing originating in Asia that has been used effectively as a holistic healing method for over 2,000 years. It works on the underlying principle that illness and pain occur when the body’s Qi, or vital energy, cannot flow freely through the body’s energy channels. By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, the acupuncturist seeks to re-establish the free flow of Qi to restore balance and trigger the body’s natural healing response.
