Women’s Health Physiotherapy

I am a specialist pelvic health Physiotherapist with over 10 years’ experience evaluating and treating women with pelvic health conditions.

I qualified as a Physiotherapist from Kings College London, University of London in 2004. Since then I have worked at three of London’s teaching Hospitals; the Royal London Hospital, St. George’s Hospital and Kings College Hospital where I am clinical lead of the women’s health team. I have undertaken extensive training in the women’s health field over the last 10 years and have presented at national and international conferences.

Many women restrict their physical activity because they experience bladder leakage or heaviness and dragging in the vagina during certain activities such as walking, running, lifting or jumping. These symptoms can affect quality of life and well-being. I have a specialist interest in optimising pelvic health in women to help them get back to exercise/sport to lead the active lifestyle they want to, to keep healthy and happy over a lifetime. I am passionate about working with women to achieve their personal goals.

Conditions I treat (Whether you are eighteen, pregnant, postnatal, coming up to menopause or beyond):

  • Stress urinary incontinence (accidental bladder leakage with cough/sneeze/laugh/lifting/walking or with exercise).
  • Urinary urgency (having to rush to the toilet to pass urine)
  • Urinary frequency (going to the toilet a lot to pass urine)
  • Urgency urinary Incontinence (having to rush to the toilet and having accidental wee on the way)
  • Vaginal prolapse (feeling of something falling down, bulging, heaviness or dragging in the vagina)
  • Injury from instrumental delivery or 3/4th degree tears
  • Cesarean section scar
  • Painful intercourse
