Terms & Conditions

Karma Studios

These Terms & Conditions apply to all classes, workshops, events and activities held at Karma Studios.

By attending any class, workshop or event at Karma Studios, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

Karma Studios reserves the right to amend these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always apply.

1. Independent Teachers and Practitioners

Karma Studios provides a welcoming space for independent yoga, Pilates and wellbeing professionals to teach and work from.

All teachers and practitioners operate on a self-employed basis and are responsible for their own qualifications, insurance, professional standards and the services they provide.

Unless otherwise stated, Karma Studios acts solely as the provider of the premises and is not responsible for the professional advice, treatment or instruction given by individual teachers or practitioners.

2. Bookings, Payments and Cancellations

All bookings, payments, cancellations and refunds are managed directly by the individual teacher or practitioner.

Your booking agreement is with the teacher or practitioner delivering the class or service, and their own booking and cancellation policies will apply.

Karma Studios is not responsible for disputes relating to bookings, payments, cancellations or refunds between clients and independent teachers.

3. Health and Medical Responsibility

Clients are responsible for ensuring that they are physically and medically fit to participate in any class or activity.

If you have a medical condition, injury, illness, are pregnant, or have any concerns regarding your participation, you should seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional and inform your teacher before attending.

You agree to work within your own capabilities and to follow any instructions given by your teacher.

Teachers reserve the right to refuse participation if they reasonably believe that attendance may present a risk to the client or to others.

4. Infectious Illness

If you are suffering from an infectious illness or contagious condition, including but not limited to fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, flu-like symptoms or any contagious skin condition, please do not attend class.

If you are unsure whether you should attend, please contact your teacher directly.

5. Foot Hygiene

To help maintain a safe and hygienic environment for everyone:

  • Anyone with a verruca must ensure that the affected area is covered at all times by wearing socks or an appropriate waterproof covering.
  • Anyone with a contagious foot or skin condition should wear socks or suitable foot coverings and seek appropriate medical advice before attending.
  • Teachers reserve the right to refuse participation where they reasonably believe attendance may present a hygiene risk to others.

6. Studio Etiquette

To help create a calm and enjoyable environment for everyone, clients are asked to:

  • Arrive in good time for class.
  • Respect the teacher and fellow participants.
  • Switch mobile phones to silent.
  • Remove outdoor footwear before entering the practice area where requested.
  • Keep the studio space clean and tidy.
  • Treat studio equipment and facilities with care.

Late arrival may result in entry being refused if it would disrupt the class.

7. Respectful Behaviour and Community Standards

Karma Studios is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all teachers, practitioners and clients.

The following behaviour will not be tolerated:

  • Bullying or intimidation.
  • Harassment or discrimination of any kind.
  • Aggressive, abusive or threatening language or behaviour.
  • Verbal abuse towards teachers, practitioners, staff or other clients.
  • Inappropriate, offensive or sexually inappropriate behaviour.
  • Persistent disruption of classes or events.
  • Unreasonable, vexatious or abusive communication by email, telephone, text message, social media or any other form of contact.
  • Behaviour that creates an unsafe, uncomfortable or hostile environment for others.

Karma Studios and individual teachers reserve the right to refuse entry, ask a participant to leave a class, suspend future bookings or permanently withdraw the right to attend classes or events where behaviour is considered unacceptable.

Any action taken in the interests of protecting the wellbeing, safety and enjoyment of teachers, practitioners and clients will be at the sole discretion of Karma Studios and the relevant teacher.

No refunds will be due where attendance rights are withdrawn because of unacceptable behaviour.

8. Personal Belongings

Personal belongings are brought onto the premises at the owner’s risk.

Karma Studios accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal property except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

9. Use of Facilities

Clients are expected to use the facilities and equipment responsibly and in a manner that does not endanger themselves or others.

Children attending the studio remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian at all times unless attending a supervised class.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that they are fit to participate and for following all instructions given by their teacher.

11. Privacy

Any personal information shared with Karma Studios or with individual teachers will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
