Nurturing Hatha with Julie

A Bit About Me…

Until relatively recently, I worked as a social worker and trainer/teacher for over 30 years. I’ve also been practising yoga for more than 30 years.

Yoga has been a reliable and loyal friend throughout my life, particularly since undergoing unexpected open-heart surgery in 2018. This experience strengthened my connection with yoga and inspired me to turn my lifelong hobby into something I could share with others by training to teach.

From Iyengar Yoga to Hatha Yoga, my practice has adapted with me as I’ve grown older, experienced changes in my body and discovered that my body needs different things at different times.

I hold the British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma (500 hours), which allows me to share nurturing, traditional Hatha Yoga. My classes go beyond Asana (postures) to include Pranayama (breathing techniques), focused attention and meditation, Savasana and restorative yoga.

My themed classes are welcoming, inclusive and unhurried.

I believe yoga is for EVERYBODY.

If you’ve ever thought yoga wasn’t for you, then my classes are definitely FOR YOU!

My Nurturing Hatha Yoga classes provide a space for “nurturing your interest, nurturing your practice and nurturing YOU!”

You will be welcomed with warmth, clear guidance and the space to move at your own pace.

Those who have attended my classes often describe my approach as gentle, fun, human and down to earth. But that doesn’t mean the practice can’t also be strong, informed, dynamic and varied to meet the needs of different levels of experience.

Above all, I want everyone to feel comfortable, included and able to enjoy yoga in a way that works for them.

With warmth, Julie
