Caroline Lucas

Caroline’s passion for Yoga was sparked in 2004, during her rehabilitation for a serious ankle injury. Within her first few yoga sessions, Caroline found her mind was clearer, muscles lengthened, and her alignment improved. She felt rejuvenated, relaxed and her sleeping improved. Eager to learn more about Yoga, Caroline took a short training course. The desire to further her knowledge led to an improvement in her health but also a career change and she began to train as a Yoga teacher. She went on to study with some of the best Yoga teachers in the UK, undertaking the 240-hour Yoga Alliance accredited Teacher Training with appleyoga in London.

Caroline embarked on further training with appleyoga and qualified to teach pre and postnatal yoga classes. This built upon her skills previously gained during her ‘Mum & Baby Yoga’ training undertaken with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.

In addition to her weekly classes she also offers monthly Restorative, Yin and Yoga Nidra classes and regular workshops. Outside of the studio, there are yearly weekend retreats as well as yoga days all based in the south of England.

Caroline continued to work towards her 500 hours training certification and in 2014 Caroline embarked on Restorative Yoga Training with Anna Ashby at Triyoga in London. This expanded her learning and complemented the range of classes she was able to offer her clients. It also enabled her to offer some truly therapeutic passive asanas during her regular classes.

In 2015, she gained a further qualification with Andrea Kwiatkowski at Camyoga in ‘The Art of Adjustments’, which has proven to be especially beneficial when working with one to one clients.

During 2018, Caroline studied extensively with the British School of Meditation and gained a Diploma in Meditation Teaching with Distinction. This has been highly valuable to include a deeper offering within her monthly Restorative and Yin Yoga sessions.

As lockdown hit in 2020, Caroline took the opportunity to start studying online and a year later gained her Level 3 Diploma in Matwork Pilates with Active IQ. Following this qualification she is able to offer ‘Gentle Flow Pilates’ from September 2021.

She has also delivered these essential skills to various corporate institutes in London and local schools, in the form of workshops as part of their wellbeing programmes and INSET days.

Continuing professional development is important to Caroline. It enables her to keep her classes varied and offer different options to her clients, allowing them to find the approach that is right for their body.
